Build up your architectural knowledge with a solid foundation of Moshe Safdie data. Safdie, designer of such landmarks as the Habitat complex and the new wing of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, is Canada's best-known living architect, and this fascinating Canadian Architecture Collection website documents his life and work. It's been in continuous (ahem) construction since 1995 and, in the words of its creators, is "a unique and ambitious project that will revolutionize the model for a research site of a living architect." The site consists of a virtual exhibit and an online hypermedia archive of news articles, biographies and other textual material.

Did you know that McGill has its own song? How about four different songs?

According to this website, McGill, like many other 19th Century universities, inspired its students to write all sorts of songs about student life and their devotion to their alma mater, including the following ditties you can play online:

• Hail, Alma Mater (1:14)
• James McGill (0:31)
• Put on Your Red and White Sweater (0:31)
• It's Winter Carnival Time (1:18)

These songs were often compiled into songbooks, a sample of which is also available for viewing on the site.
