Levelling the PhD field

Already a highly attractive destination for international doctoral students, McGill is now even better-positioned to vie with other top universities for the world’s best and brightest PhD candidates, following the recent announcement that the tuition supplement for full-time international doctoral students at McGill will soon be eliminated.

The McGill International Doctoral Awards (MIDAs), announced by the Office of the Associate Provost (Graduate Education) in April, will eliminate the tuition supplement for all international doctoral students, including candidates for PhD, DMus and DCL degrees.

The MIDAs will work in conjunction with existing fee waivers to exempt all international students registered for full-time study in years one through four (PhD1 to PhD4), after which the international supplement is no longer assessed.
