MUPS photo contest One of the welcome signs of spring is the annual exhibition of photos at the McLennan Library that have been entered into the McGill University Photography Society's photo competition. The contest, open to all, but generally entered by students, reveals the talented shutterbugs that exist in our midst. MUPS president Melissa Martin says about 70 photos were entered this year in one of five categories. Winners were selected on the basis of visual impact, composition, creativity, lighting and technical quality. Prize winners are in line for goodies from Nikon, the National Film Board, the Musée d'art contemporain and other sponsors. Here are some of the winning entries. From top to bottom: 3rd place - people 1st place - nature 1st place - experimental 1st place - city 3rd place - movement |
