In one of the tightest elections in memory, Aaron Donny-Clark edged out Leon Mwotia to become the new President of the Students' Society of McGill University. Donny-Clark took the prize with 2,691 votes which amounted to a victory margin of 2% or 116 votes. In what was described as a polite if boring campaign, Donny-Clark emerged as the darling of the left while Mwotia was depicted as popular but unreliable.
