Three McGill law students -- Karine Bélair, Liliane Bantourakis and Aref Amanat -- were chosen to clerk for Supreme Court Justices in what is widely understood to be the most prestigious and intellectually demanding articling position in Canada.

Ali-Ismail Shivji has won a Gold Medal Student Award presented by the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers (CCPE) for "exceptional individual achievement by an undergraduate engineering student who demonstrates leadership and/or contributes to society through extracurricular activities."

Eric Fombonne, Professor and Director in the Department of Psychiatry, received an FRSQ grant to study environmental toxicants in the etiology of autism.

Steven Grover, Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, has received the Yamanouchi Impotence Best Abstract Award from the American Urological Association.

Anthropology professor Bruce Trigger, one of Canada's most influential anthropologists, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Toronto in June.

Mary Ellen MacDonald, PhD candidate in medical anthropology, was awarded a CHSRF post-doctoral fellowship for her project, "Pediatric palliative care: Building end-of-life care, research and policy for families confronted with the life threatening illness of a child." Co-supervisors are Robin Cohen, Departments of Oncology and Medicine, and Stephen Liben, Department of Pediatrics.

Medicine and Oncology Professor Michael Pollak received the Susan G. Komen Foundation (USA) Award for breast cancer research and the US Army Award for prostate cancer research.
