Law professor Frédéric Bachand has won the coveted 2006 Walter Owen Book Prize for making an outstanding contribution to Canadian legal literature with his book on international commercial arbitration, L'intervention du juge canadien avant et durant un arbitrage commercial. Awarded at the Canadian Bar Association's 2006 Canadian Legal Conference in St. John's, the bi-annual accolade, which includes a $10,000 cash prize, adds considerably to Bachand's already-established reputation as one of Canada's most respected legal scholars in the area of international trade law.
