Sociology professor John Hall has been named the new Dean of the Faculty of Arts. He takes over a growing faculty moving in exciting new directions.

Suicide research centre opens

The Douglas Hospital will be home to a new research group that hopes to find answers to why people kill themselves. Director Gustav Turecki said the multidisciplinary approach may provide new insights.

McGill's matrix

Chief Information Officer Tony Masi is King of the Techno-sphere at McGill. He said the university's investment in new software and hardware is paying off for teachers, students and researchers alike.

Strike wrap-up

The TA union and McGill reached a settlement that was ratified by AGSEM on May 8. Everyone walked away happy with the deal, which will see pay equity for TAs by 2006.
