The Juno nominators have caught an earful of McGill grad and employee Mika Putterman. The flute player is part of the Arion ensemble whose CD Telemann Tutti Flauti!, under the direction of guest conductor Jaap ter Lindon, is up for an award for "Classical Album of the Year: Large Ensemble".
Putterman graduated from McGill with an honours in early music performance and literature, before moving to Europe for seven years to continue her studies in France and Belgium. She returned to Montreal in 2003 and now works in development at the Schulich School of Music. Besides being flautist-about-town, Putterman runs her own concert series, Autour de la Flûte.
For more information on her series and her instrument of choice, the baroque wooden flute, see www.autourdelaflute.com.
