Communications keystone moves on

Sylvain-Jacques Desjardins and communications staff
Owen Egan

Sylvain-Jacques Desjardins, associate director of the University Relations Office (URO), has left McGill after five years. Hired by Kate Williams, former URO director, in 2000 as a communications officer, he became associate director of the unit early this year. Desjardins was a tremendous asset for the university, promoting research, coordinating events, easing communications within McGill and to the greater community. His breadth of knowledge, tireless manner and smooth touch will be greatly missed.

A going away 5 a 7 was held for Desjardins on November 17. Here we see him with colleagues from Development and Alumni Relations, the URO, and the office of the AVP communications. From left to right: Helen Dyer, Laurie Devine, Sylvain-Jacques Desjardins, Jenny Addesa, Chantal Mauceri, Maria Naso and Catherine Paquette.
