Professor Robin Kenny Stewart has taught courses on crop protection, insect ecology, biocontrol of insect pests and insect population dynamics. Since arriving at the University in 1966, he has held several positions at Macdonald Campus including associate dean (research), from 1986-91, and coordinator of international activities (1991-96). He was twice appointed chair of the Department of Entomology. Stewart has authored or co-authored over 100 scientific journal articles on insects. His expertise in insect control has attracted many exceptional graduate students from Africa who have gone on to become leaders in the control of insects in their own countries. Stewart can also take partial credit for McGill's success in producing more than 100 Rhodes Scholars his daughter Fiona was McGill's 102nd Rhodes Scholar, in 1991.
