McGill in the Community

Cleaning their backyard

Gloved and grinning, dozens of students took part in a large-scale clean-up of their neighbourhood. "McGill in the Community" saw student volunteers plucking litter from the streets and alleys east of campus as part of an effort to reach out to local residents. The clean-up was followed by a lunch with members of the community and municipal politicians behind the Urban Ecology Centre on Parc Avenue. Residents shared the history of the Milton-Parc district with students, and explored future opportunities of working together.
