My students suffer from the Bambi syndrome. Wait, don't rush to your medical encyclopedia. Bambi is this young deer, defenseless and naive, sooooo cute. Suffering from the Bambi syndrome means you think the first goal of humanity should be to save all Bambis of the world.
In my field, it is a growing challenge to deal with the emotional energy provided by the Bambi syndrome, and turn it into an ability to provide long-term solutions to environmental problems. The challenge is new, but the solution is not; we need to form people able to think, analyze, synthesize, and above all, criticize.
