The Centre de coopération interuniversitaire franco-québécoise (CCIFQ) will offer 10 awards in 1996, to doctoral students in any discipline at a Quebec university, whose research necessitates a research visit to France lasting from three to 10 weeks. The awards are valued at 2,500 FF, plus 700 FF for the first four weeks.

Application forms are available from the Office of Fellowships and Awards, Room 408, Dawson Hall. There are three deadlines annually: March 1, May 1 and September 1. For further information, contact the CCIFQ, Paris, France, tel 44 27 68 85; fax 44 27 68 87.

NSERC Postgraduate Industrial Scholarships

This innovative NSERC program promotes industry/university collaboration by offering two-year graduate scholarships valued at $17,500 per year ($5,000 of which comes from industry and $12,500 from NSERC) to students in any natural science or engineering discipline.

Eligible candidates must be of high academic standing and must be nominated by their McGill department to the Office of Fellowships and Awards. Students who commenced graduate study in January 1996 may be nominated up until April 30, 1996. Students who will begin graduate programs in May 1996 may be nominated up until August 31, 1996.

Please contact the Office of Fellowships and Awards at 398-3995 for further information. NSERC informs us that this program is to continue in 1996-1997, with some changes. We will inform you of any changes to the program as soon as they are made known to us.

Friday, April 12 Deadline for Non-thesis submission forms to be returned to the Thesis Office (Dawson Hall, 4th floor) for Spring 1996 graduation.
Friday, May 10 Deadline to return Nomination of Examiners forms to the Thesis Office (Dawson Hall, 4th floor) for students expecting to graduate in the Fall 1996 Convocation.
Friday, May 17 Deadline to register for a Summer Term of Residence.
