Government of Quebec Collaborative Programs
The Government of Quebec has several programs for academic exchanges in Europe and North America. In most cases support is limited to travel and living costs, and certain fields of study are given priority. The following programs are now open for applications; further information and application forms are available from Joe Zackon at local 4197:
- Quebec-France
- For invited professors/researchers to spend four to six weeks in a university in France. Priority is given to new professors/researchers and those seeking to establish a new collaboration with a French partner. Deadline: February 23, 1996.
- For conferences (colloques) organized jointly by French and Quebec universities and held in France or Quebec in 1997. Experts from France and Quebec must form a significant proportion of the participants. Conferences which include young researchers as speakers will be favoured. Deadline: October 1, 1996.
- Belgium/Brazil/France/Germany/Italy/United States
- For postdoctoral training in Quebec universities for citizens of the above countries (and possibly other European countries). An eligible candidate cannot previously have been a trainee (stagiaire) in Quebec. Deadline: April 15, 1996.
Student Exchanges - Bourses de court séjour en France
The Centre de coopération interuniversitaire franco-québécoise (CCIFQ) will offer 10 awards, in 1996, to doctoral students in any discipline at a Quebec university, whose research necessitates a research visit to France, lasting from three to 10 weeks.
The awards are valued at 2,500FF, plus 700FF for the first four weeks. Application forms are available from the Office of Fellowships and Awards, Room 408, Dawson Hall.
