The biggest challenge facing McGill in the years ahead, as we attempt to enhance the educational experience, is the traditional way students have been taught before entering university.

We are trying to take students out of their comfort zone by letting them work through the basic mechanics on their own, which frees up more time in class for alternative teaching methods and contextual discussion of applications.

This naturally creates more anxiety among students (although some anxiety is good) for which a communication process must be created to manage change and encourage students to embrace a more effective system of learning.
